Just Watching Love

I see colors wisely placed for dice

heightening the value

to our home and our life.

I watched you just cut flowers

and pick the small white ones

to put with the large yellow ones.

I don’t know much about flowers

and sure appreciate the nice

combination you create.

It is that nice little way

you snip here and there

to cut them fine as a hair.

Your concern for each little thing

shows me each big thing

will be handled.

Your lavish caring

for the flowers in our garden

shows lavish caring for our lives.

When you say

the picture of the wise old man is me,

the wisdom and love in naming is you.

Walking around with diligence and concern

that all things are in order, for your

home is made from love.

Dusting a little here and a little there,

in sweeping arcs that say

this home is our love’s trophy.
