You sure know when you get into the Rockies. The only way we haven't traveled is by horse.
We will have to try riding horses there some time. Remember driving in the dark of night, on Route 666. Devil's hi-way Route 666 as we traveled to the Southern Ute tribe. They had a Casino, RV Park and a nice golf course.
The last way is the one through Denver and our fourth.

Vale in the summer brought memories of Teri, Mark & my skiing lessons.
Mark went on to bigger slopes as Teri & I stayed with bunny sessions.
Most Hawks are very hard to identify with their sleek brown-white plumes.
Alert Prairie Dogs, on mounds, quickly disappear into their hidden rooms.

Went into north mountain range after dark, started lightening then raining.
Through coal black narrow tunnels we weaved, my nerves were straining.
The road lines disappeared in the rain, with no safe pull out on either side.
Nerves were finally abated seeing Park ahead & the end of tonight's ride.

On scenic route wet cowboys drove cattle and hoofs spewed mud cakes.
Mountain backdrop viewed through Aspens next to large meadow lakes.
Rain worst; hail golf ball size, ruts in road, wind heavy with tornado gusts. Parked; saw RV's go pass to be damaged & learn weather has no musts.

Between the low plains of Eastern Colorado and the Mountains of the Western high plains, there is quite a contrast. We have driven through Colorado in the South, East and North.
